Phantasma
by admin on Jun.10, 2009, under Thoughts on Then
Shut your mouth, open your ears
Let the pain help, your body it sears
Listen to the birds, full of life
Far from war, battles, death, strife
Cross the channel, the abyss of Phantasma
Tonight the beast sleeps, silence reigns like coma
Here lies Phantasma, king and queen of the hall
Ruler undisputed of those who live here, of all
Into this cavern rides four hundred kings
Following each is all their hosts, running as if with wings
One hundred thousand knights, each followed by one hundred infantry
Totaling four billion men, never had there been such an army
And indeed never would there be another
Prayers going up from over a billion women, some were a mother
Others were sisters, other daughters, others lovers
Weeping and prayer lasts all night, the candle flickers
All without purpose, Phantasma has awoken
All the kings unite, The orders for the advance are spoken
The archers post and a near billion arrows fly
High they arch into the cave, whistling a cry
Phantasma has no fears, his powers are no match
Dull the arrows bounce off, a few catch
But his rage only grows, killing is now his purpose
He opens his wings and all are afraid
No one marches home, the women are barren
No bees will carry the pollen to the flowers, famine
The few children go hungry, dieing soon after
No longer do the streets fill with laughter
Phantasma in his lair, sleeping soundly, lies
Dreams undisturbed, while the world dies
Man’s pride is his own undoing, he has not the company of wise
The moon is now setting, never again will the sun rise
