Setting Sun
by admin on Jun.29, 2010, under Thoughts on Then
I don’t need to prove to you
My abilities to write my words
My light and darkness are true
I leave like south bound birds
I cannot give what you want
My feelings have hardened
My silence in this nights’ haunt
I leave you girl pardoned
I don’t give a damn what happens
My thoughts are all that matters
My new self from dirt awakens
I shoot the glass and it shatters
I fear nothing no longer in life
My children sleep in silence in safety
My bones no longer broken from strife
I bow now in humble piety
I end this story by saying
My story has only begun
My heart is always praying
I watch the setting sun

Walking alone through the night
Silent in thought of something gone
Walking along trails of old
Night holding back the dawn
The clouds drift above releasing rain
But I’m feeling no water, only pain
The thunder falling with booming voice
But I’m only reminded of your choice
The path leads through night
After long hours of solitary feelings
Emerging into the day’s light
The lightening flashes before my eyes
Feeling powerless to change
My inner self over time slowly mends
Emotions leave now like you
And so it is the story ends

Eyes golden with light
Shining in the darkness bright
A soul independent and apart
A child dancing in your heart
I’m caught in love with you
Crazed from looking at you
Wandering my eyes to you
To your eyes, the best of you
Eyes piercing my skin
Striking my deepest sin
A feeling changing into joy
A thought of being an innocent boy
I’m caught in love with you
Crazed from looking at you
Wandering my eyes to you
To your eyes, the best of you
Eyes forgiving my faults
Taking my arm in the waltz
A hand reaching to hold
A silent movement of gold
I’m caught in love with you
Crazed from looking at you
Wandering my eyes to you
To your eyes, the best of you
I Feel Fire
by admin on May.05, 2010, under Thoughts on Then
Suddenly holding, your small and soft hand
Caring for, your glowing and shining heart
Loving you, not what I had planned
But now, I can’t stand us being apart
My hands, gentle along your face
Flowing hair, my fingers do pace
Down falling, your brown locks tumble
My girl, you make me stumble
I’m thunder, reverberating above
You’re lightening, striking like a lance tip
Letting go, everyday I let go of
By water, You strike the glass and I slip
Light movements, along your soft leg
Taken in, forever more I beg
Seducing skin, I reach higher
Passion released, I feel fire
To Tame Thunder

Silent above, falling down
I’m lost in the atmosphere
Stars gaze like eyes in the dark
A cloudless night, clean swept clear
Your eyes are dry, emptied
On your cheeks and chest
My heart flows like falling water
Hold you to my breast
Pure energy, radiant
Climbing into heaven’s realm
Princess on high, elegant
Blighted in the cold night air
Your eyes are dry, emptied
On your cheeks and chest
My heart flows like falling water
Hold you to my breast
The ice, layer on layer
Looking like lances to pierce
Knights stand offering prayer
Life to end, to the cold grave
Destruction of Duty

The mountain above crawled up to heaven’s gate. So ancient pagans believed. The fanatical faith of those who worshiped at the base of the towering stones shames the faiths we know. The faith, the clinging, the deaths of so many in love and selfless passion towards something they knew nothing about. The idea seems strange. And to many others the idea is wrong but maybe others feel that it might be right.
Standing by the tower, leaning against the wooden structure, Liam of Athfar, son of Commander who drove out the demons of old, sat alone. He grew up alone, his father left him shortly after Liam’s birth. And Liam sat alone, his mother was unknown. Commander had carried him to the alter and given him to the priests. Many gave their children to be raised to protect the sacred mountain. But Commander’s son Liam seemed in born with a knowledge of what his task meant. Children are taught right from wrong, but Liam felt shame outwardly from the first. Shame, the feeling of remorse for so many things. Shame, the sight of agony and burning desire to take back. Shame, the feeling we cannot explain.
Some feel the shame, the feeling of wrong done. But if they act with others in conformity to society, the shame washes away. If society condones the action, then the children hit each other with sticks. But Liam shied joining in. He knew that the beating of another child was wrong. When antagonized into anger he beat down another boy like a tiger taking down a gazelle. Anger fueled his passion. But he never lost his head. But after the fight ended, quickly, he stood up and walked into the darkness alone. The clouds felt like they gathered, the intense anger in his eyes and face.
But now he was a young man, not a youth, anger burned inside his chest not outside in the open for all to see. His sin was kept secret.
But did he alone know his sin…
The mountain was safe with thousands of youth guarding day and night. In circumference the rock was not much at the base, but as it reached into the sky it expanded until it disappeared into clouds and blue. To walk about it might have taken twenty minutes. Yet the outward steepness made it impossible to climb. Or rather made it near impossible. For, the fear was that one day, someone would climb up, and destroy the mountain. Simply superstition of course. But the mountain air seemed to call. And to this day many had heard the call, and perished as they came.
Still standing, as before, Liam looked out into the surrounding land. Lush and green amid a rocky land, stood the village. He had known no other, and so he had no name to call this village. But if you must know, the village was once in the Kingdom of Athfar. Before the coming of the demons from Asgothfa. This was long ago though, and Liam knew only of these tails from legends passed down from grandfathers who had heard it from their grandfathers. Many stars had fallen in the sky above since then. And many times had the moon looked down and winked at the enemies of Asgothfa, giving them hope and courage to stand up. All this was before Liam’s time, but all this had shaped who he was.
“We have come to take from you the sacred duty of guarding the eternal and everlasting throne of God.” These words came from a youth, about the age of Liam who had come from the village. The words were not airs put on by an arogant youth. The words had deep and lasting meaning, they were scripted and had been said by the guards who came to take the place of another guard, since before any of the grandfathers’ grandfathers could or would remember. Liam looked into the eyes of the other.
“May nothing, not even death, cause you to fail in your sacred duty.”
Was all this mere words repeated? Liam thinks not. The words were true. You don’t die for something, you kill for it. And so must this youth and all who guarded the mountain.
Liam now walked down into the village he called home. The village in ancient times called Sanctuary. Sanctuary was large, but not developed. A temple stood at the highest point in the village, but it was only made from polished stones, nothing was left from old. The village seemed happy, nothing else out of the ordinary from a village of peace and prosperity. Of course, all the men were gone at day, and many still at night. Farming of subsistence crops kept the people alive. And Liam would on some days assist in this effort. But now, his shift was done, and he would rest until ready to climb once more and take on his sacred duty at the mountain.
Resting came hard to Liam. His mind wandered like a river through a forest. Down paths trodden by deer and panthers, yet untouched by man. His mind wandered to Isolde. The girl, the woman, the maiden, who he cared for. Submission to love’s choices falls hard on us all. And Liam new that Isolde would never care for him the same. Still his mind wandered in the day and night. Back always, from joy into despair, he wanted her. Like silver and solid steel, two opposites, Isolde and Liam, and he knew it. His life would never change. None had left the service of the mountain alive, few had died of old age.
Until Liam died he would live forever in despair of the woman he loved. He would watch her grow fill up with the youth of womanhood and be taken by a husband who would love her. She would grow with child and give birth to a son who would grow up admiring Liam as his hero, a solitary warrior. Or grow up never knowing Liam. Liam feared. Fear drove Liam to madness. And madness drove Liam insane.
From this dream Liam fell out of bed. And walking to the door, he walked out and up the mountain.
“We have come to take from you the sacred duty of guarding the eternal and everlasting throne of God…”
Dawn is Gone

Crazed from the wild ride
Dazed because I tried
Lost inside of time
Lost inside a rhyme
The mystery of dreams
I held you close, near
The memory screams
Trying to see you clear
Our hearts beat as one
The moment was pure
Leaving you can’t be done
The disease has no cure
Hold me, the night is long
The thunder falls so strong
Fear envelops, my reason gone
The sun will not rise, dawn
Teal

Shout what you feel
Released from the nightmare
Signatures symbolically seal
Soaring like Eagles without care
Torn like the curtain
Broken like the walls
Silence now stands
No longer thunder falls
Say what you feel,
Enveloped inside of dreams.
Trajectory toward a sky teal,
Love in the night screams.
The Mountain
by admin on Feb.16, 2010, under Thoughts on Then
The mountain top high
Cold and forgotten
One with the sky
Clouds embrace my heart
Soft water lands on my hand
My body recoils in fear
The frozen droplets stick
Like a warm tear
Sin has turned my body
From the pure white of snow
My song has become a parody
Tribulation no longer love
Still, I stand back up from the grave
Take one last look at the stone
Touch my hand to the name
Close my eyes in silence
Fall in love all again
And walk away
In tears
cold
Used to Be

Plunging into flames, long
The ends curl in song
Like a demon’s hair
Lifting up voices of affliction
I’m consumed in erupting light
Flames set me on fire, alight
But now I’m crying, in anger
Pain my friend not my enemy
Flames soon blue dark
No more just a lark
The pain consumes
Like energy in the sun
Love from beauty has turned
Fields of green now burned
The rose I longed for
Lost in the smoke
I’m consumed in erupting light
Flames set me on fire, alight
But now I’m crying, in anger
Pain my friend not my enemy
The field was open, and I came
The rose stood alone, dame
I took the rose in my hand
The thorn pricked me
Poisoned, to the deep
My dreams take me, sleep
And I’m lost in fire’s storm
Trapped in eternal falling
I’m consumed in erupting light
Flames set me on fire, alight
But now I’m crying, in anger
Pain my friend not my enemy
So now love has consumed
Silence, I am ruined
I loved you
and you killed me
Locks of seductive hair
Hides your face, lair
I crept into that space
Touched the lips
I’m consumed in erupting light
Flames set me on fire, alight
But now I’m crying, in anger
Pain my friend not my enemy
Darkness, surrounds you
Covers you like a black hue
And I’m in love with it
But the darkness is not true
Nails painted like a nest
Spider web, touching my chest
I’m caught, poisoned by venom
Trust betrayed, no rest
I’m consumed in erupting light
Flames set me on fire, alight
But now I’m crying, in anger
Pain my friend not my enemy…
