Where Night is Not Black

The Wild Rose

by admin on Jan.27, 2010, under Thoughts on Then

The wild rose grows deep
Trouble grows with time
Releasing the call now,
Like a lone bell chime

The moon watches far
As walking by water
Passing a sole star
Lighting the path we walk

Now lying still she sleeps
My lips catch her hint
Sweet like a wild rose
Eyes with a soft tint

Open now they beam
Like soft rays of energy
Feelings like a dream
Love as true as pure life

Unnatural length of night
Bright skies stand held back
Wild roses sleep near
In the darkness black

Up comes the morn sun
Now the rose has changed
Now unlike the one
Red now is the wild rose

Gosh. this one’s really really gorgeous. I’m kinda speechless, so much beautiful imagery. Good job.
I especially like the second and third stanzas. “My lips catch her hint”
sweet and simple and slightly surreal. :)

Always so expressive…creating beautiful scenes. I love the description of the rose, the story seems timeless. The pictures that come to mind when I read your poetry are full of life, and certainly not something I can come up with on my own. You would make a wonderful story writer…actually, you all ready are. I would encourage further challenges. :)

woah I just realized your complicated rhyming pattern in this one. I’m very impressed. I’m way too undisciplined to ever do stuff like that haha.
